Schnitzler at Theater Museum

At the Austrian Theater Museum, a engrossing narration of the world and times of one of Austria’s greatest modern writers, is told through three of his most famous stories: Der Reigen (1897), Lieutenant Güstl (1900) and Fräulein Else (1924).

In the intense eroticism of fleeting sexual encounters in Reigen, Schnitzler described the deep sources of the human life force. In a listening room, the visitor wanders with Lt. Güstl through the night world of Vienna, following the monologue of his thoughts. With Fräulein Else, you will pass though a door into a gracious hotel lobby where theme windows reveal the precarious situation of a young woman in middle class society at the turn of the century
