Until August, the name Christoph Waltz would have gone unrecognised. With his mind-blowing portrayal of the frightening, yet charming Hans Landa, "The Jew Hunter," in Quentin Tarantino’s embellished war film, Inglourious Basterds, Waltz was noticed in Austria, and at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, where he received the Best Actor Award.

Now, even more Hollywood big-shot directors want a piece of the charming villain. On Sept. 14, it was made public that Waltz would be playing the role of Chudnofsky, the arch-enemy of Seth Rogen’s (Knocked Up and Pineapple Express) character, the Green Hornet, in Michel Gondry’s action comedy, The Green Hornet, which is due to air on Dec. 17, 2010 in the U.S.

Although still not at the level of popularity as his co-star Brad Pitt, with enough time it’s a definite possibility, that he could be the next big Hollywood star out of Austria since Arnold Schwarzenegger.
