Legal Graffiti

From Sept. 3 on, the first legal graffiti wall in Vienna’s 22nd District of Donaustadt will allow street artists to work without fear of breaking the law. The wall on Colerusgasse is the result of an initiative of two graffiti artists whose idea was taken up and supported by the "youth project Eßling-Aspern".

"It is extremely important that legal walls are available to the many active sprayers in order to make room for this creative street art," one of the initiators told the Austrian daily Kurier.

The official reception marking the opening of the new wall is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Sept. 3 at the Eßlinger Kulturstadl on Eßlinger Hauptstraße 96, including an exhibition of graffiti street art and the christening of the wall on Colerusgasse at 5:00.
