Founded and fronted by Wisconsinite Justin Vernon, Bon Iver’s rapid rise to fame over the past five years has become the stuff of indie-folk legend, from Vernon’s (effectively) solo debut album For Emma, Forever Ago, to this year’s "Best New Artist" and "Best Alternative Music Album" Grammy awards. With his lumberjack beard, lyrical introspection and Midwest background, Vernon presents a seemingly authentic and undeniably unique force in folk music.

Predictably, the concert is sold out. Those fortunate enough to have obtained tickets will enjoy the show at Arena Wien’s suitably estival open-air stage; the rest of us can only envy.

Folk singer-songwriter Sam Amidon opens the set.
