This is a call to arms for independent stage producers, revolutionaries and rebels to shake off the shackles of society and indulge.
The festival of theatre, performance and live art comes to Brut, for the fourth time, from 9 through 16 November. Exploitation has long existed in the arts, from discussions about copyright, to art production, but this festival seeks to break out of and subvert this system. On purpose.
The programme features a varied mix of international and Austrian artists, with several highlights in English.
Andrea Maurer & Thomas Brandstätter’s studio 5 presents Meaning Meaning, a reflection on the future of language in the tradition of Gertrude Stein. Thom Truong’s Invest in Me! is a study of social entrepreneurs and their potential to change the world.
