With the academic year about to start, many of the city’s institutes and centres offering German language courses are beginning new programmes for those wishing to dust off their Deutsch. Sample courses for September are provided, as most centres offer options year-round, monthly and sometimes weekly. For advanced courses try the University of Vienna, The Alpha Sprachinstitut or IKI for one that suits your schedule and budget. Language courses are also available at more modest prices at the Volkshochschulen (www.vhs.at), with a wide selection in Brigittenau (1200) and at the Poly College (1050).
