An independent commission tasked with writing a "Vienna Charta", guidelines to enhance communal life in the capital, has commenced discussions with citizens.
Consisting of six members of civil society, the commission (Beirat) has enlisted some 260 partner organisations to host online group talks, with about 20 citizens each, until 14 October. A report of findings will follow in November.
The discussions will focus on the following themes: behaviour in public, social attitudes, enhancing public spaces, and whether to make learning German mandatory.
Registrations for the discussion rounds are now open at www.charta.wien.at.
