OUT OF TUNE PIANO BLUES
Prolific concert pianist, teacher, and recording artist James Boyk has been Pianist in Residence for 30 years at the California Institute of Technology. He also spent 25 years in a second post as Lecturer in Music in Electrical Engineering at Caltech, integrating music, science and technology in his course, "Projects in Music & Science".
Out of Tune Piano Blues is his first mystery novel, centring on a 30-year-old concert pianist, Arthur Singer, who’s facing burnout after 18 years of touring. Taking a break to perform and teach at a university, he expects some peace and quiet, but gets more than he bargained for when passion and homicide come into play.
Boyk compiled a CD, Tonalities of
Emotion, to accompany the book.
