Vienna Review
Jun 05, 2013

On June 14 and 15, the Konzerthaus will host Distant Worlds, a multimedia event showcasing themes from the hit videogame franchise Final Fantasy, currently on world tour. On the Vienna stop, orchestral duties shall be taken over by the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra, with Grammy Award winner Arnie Roth conducting; composer Nobuo Uematsu will be attending as well, billed as a soloist on keyboard.

During the performance, cut scenes in HD from the original games will play on a large screen overlooking the audience. Final Fantasy has been entertaining gamers since 1987, and is now on its 14th sequel, not counting remakes and spinoffs. It has sold over 100 million units and is consistently noted for its cutting-edge visuals, original in-game universe and soundtrack.
