Local Fashion Awards

Vienna celebrated its fashion industry at the 2013 Vienna Awards for Fashion & Lifestyle on 21 March. The event’s star guest was supermodel Bar Refaeli, who was awarded the title of Style Icon. The Vienna Awards honour outstanding members of the local scene in 12 categories. Daniel Kalt from Die Presse was named Best Fashion Journalist. Other awards included Best Stylist, Photographer, Makeup Artist, Newcomer, Global Citizen, Designer of the Year, as well as prizes for modeling.

British supermodel Emma Heming-Willis was the face of the 2013 awards, starring in the ad campaign conceived and shot in London by Austrian photographer Julia Spicker. Heming-Willis was extravagantly styled as Austrian Empress Elisabeth for the ads, wearing Sisi’s iconic stars and emblematic long, dark hair. The Vienna Awards have been held annually since 2009, and are celebrated at a gala event in the MuseumsQuartier. More awards are coming up in April: The Ringstrassen-Galerien Designer Awards will be held for the 10th year running on 17 April. Ten finalists will show their clothing designs.

The fashion gala show was free and open to the public.
