Rathaus Film Festival

Vienna Review
Jul 03, 2013

While most Vienna concert halls are closed in summer, you can still have a daily dose of world-class performances at the Rathaus Film Festival 2013 in front of City Hall.

Every evening at nightfall for a full 65 days (from 29 Jun. to 1 Sept.) you can enjoy some of the greatest stars of classical music, dance and jazz on a huge (300 sq. metre) screen. The sound system is excellent; seating is free and first come, first served.

The entire "Platz" also hosts an international culinary-delights fair. So sample some sambal goreng or paella, grab a glass of Veltliner, and then sink back into a hot night of Anna Netrebko or Cecilia Bartoli. This Richard Wagner Year includes Das RheingoldSiegfried, and Götterdämmerung.
