Take it All Off

Coming from Eugene, Oregon, a city blessed with over 127 cm of rainfall a year, we cherish the rare times when the sun peeks through the gray clouds and coats are shed in favor of T-shirts and tank tops.
When I arrived in Vienna it was the beginning of spring. Or so they said. The first week was freezing and it was coats all week. Just like home.
Then, suddenly, the weather turned. Walking out in T-shirt and jeans in the 23-degree heat, I looked around. To my surprise everyone was still wearing coats.
Was I the only one who thought this temperature was warm? I looked skywards to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. The sun was as bright as ever. Were these people just cold blooded? Or we’re just more desparate?
