Teens help the Philippines
Dec 02, 2013
To support the victims of the category 5 super typhoon, students of the AIS (American International School, Vienna) mobilised.
The student club "Habitat for Humanity" held a waffle and cookie sale, raising enough money to buy a "Shelter Repair Kit" which includes the essentials to build a complete shelter for one family.
Three days later, members of the "Raising and Giving" club gathered on the Stephansplatz in the centre of Vienna, offering free hugs and pamphlets to raise awareness of the Philippinos’ plight.
AIS High School Principal Dennis Harter said, "We are proud of our students and their passion and involvement in helping those in need. This demonstrates the ability teens have to contribute, mobilise and make a difference."
