Vienna Fashion Night
Jul 08, 2013
On a balmy Thursday evening, 13 June, Vienna Fashion Night took over the most central streets of the 1st District.
This year’s upbeat motto, "It’s the entire experience that counts," framed the popularity of the third annual "Late Night Shopping" event, combining fashion and charity with indulgence.
More than 10,000 fashion enthusiasts showed, including industry insiders from Austria and abroad. The night’s special guest was Austrian star model Patrick Kafka.
Participating stores and luxury boutiques around Stephansplatz, Kohlmarkt and the Graben remained open until 22:00. Each retailer offered one "it piece" for which the entire proceeds were donated to the Österreichischer Herzfonds charity.
Following the late-night shopping, the event’s peak was a star-studded fashion show, open to the public, held under the Michaelerkuppel at the entrance to the Hofburg.
For the first time, the current men’s and women’s collections from top international designers were shown alongside those of new comers and well-known boutiques in one show, ending the night on a glamorous note.
