Fainschmitz

Viennese band founded in 2015 between chanson, gypsy swing, jazzy pop and also boisterous moments. Their self-image is "music for cuddling and wild dancing", and with "The Fainschmitz Rises" the quartet released their second album this spring. Not entirely averse to melancholy, Fainschmitz combine winks with profundity without heaviness of meaning and instrumentals with charming earworms. "Today I'm sad, tomorrow I'm happy. Those are the days, sometimes like this, sometimes like that," it says laconically in "Pizza Margherita," for example. Translated into a geometric form: With Christoph &Lollo as well as 5/8erl in Ehr'n, Fainschmitz form an unequal triangle of unconventional Austrian pop music suitable for cabaret stages.
