Metronomy

Formed around the turn of the millennium, the band Metronomy around singer Joseph Mount started out in the slipstream of their friends from Bloc Party with energetic electronic indie pop and quickly found success. Unlike many of their competitors, the southern Englishmen cannot be accused of failing to evolve. Each new album has a carefully crafted thematic and sonic focus; sometimes British pop saints like the Beatles, the Kinks or Blur are allowed to echo, then again it goes in the direction of electropop or indietronics. The modestly titled "Metronomy Forever" 2019 work was followed most recently by the album "Small World". The tour motto still quotes the penultimate album - no wonder, the concert tour should actually take place in 2020 (tickets purchased at that time are still valid). Support: Lynks.
