Xenia Hausner

On the occasion of her seventieth birthday, the show "True Lies" presents the artist's large-format paintings. A former stage designer, Hausner only took up brushes and paint in her second career. What began with a portrait of a neighbor with cancer in 1992 has led over the years to elaborate studio settings. One example is the series of works entitled "Exiles", for which Hausner acquired an old ÖBB coupé and staged models in pathos-rich farewell gestures.
