Joseph Beuys

Denken. Handeln. Vermitteln.

On the occasion of the 100th birthday of the German artist with the felt hat (1921-1986), the exhibition offers an overview of his "Denken. Act. Mediate," as the subtitle puts it. On view are installations such as "The Honey Pump at the Workplace" (1974-77) or "Basic Space Wet Laundry" (1979), which also stand for Beuys' sociopolitical will to change. Through his drawings, watercolors, prints, and videos of actions, the artist's topicality with regard to ecological issues becomes clear. The animal takes on a special role in the show, for example in the "Deer Monuments" or in the performance "How to explain the pictures to the dead hare".
