Emil Pirchan

Born in Brno in 1884, the multi-faceted designer created buildings, furniture, stage sets and graphic design. His late-discovered estate also contained paintings, drawings and writings. The first survey exhibition of the Otto Wagner pupil shows his bravura in many different fields of work. Charming, for example, is the reconstructed hallway from 1907, which consists of a bench, cupboard, vases, flower pictures as well as the original design. The second part of the show is devoted to stage sets, costumes, posters and even buildings that Pirchan designed for the theatre from 1913 onwards.
