Stadt und Land

Zwischen Traum & Realität

This collection show brings 200 drawings, prints and watercolours out of the Albertina's depots. The subtitle "Between Dream & Reality" hints at the construction of the landscape view, composed on paper over a period of 400 years. Albrecht Dürer's watercolour "Innsbruck from the North" from 1495 dates from the time when the landscape became an autonomous artistic genre; German Expressionists immersed landscapes in strong colours.
