Roosevelt

(D)

Apart from electronic music, German pop acts traditionally find it rather difficult to succeed internationally. Well, the Toten Hosen are big in Argentina, and Kraftwerk, Rammstein and the Scorpions are big all over the world. Marius Lauber has nothing in common with these four bands, and he's not an electronic musician either, at least not a flawless one. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old from Cologne, who calls himself Roosevelt, celebrated international success with his debut album in 2016; from Budapest to Barcelona to New York, his relaxed mixture of disco elegance, Eighties electropop and indie pop melancholy was represented at festivals.
