Özgür Kar

The successful debut of the new Kunstverein is by the artist Özgür Kar, born in Ankara in 1992. His video animation "Macabre" is already enraptured by its sound alone. On three flatscreens each, a naked flute player and a skeleton can be seen, graphically designed as reclining idlers in black and white. Kar refers to the motif of the medieval dance of death, but the scenario seems somehow antique.
