Molden-Resetarits-Soyka-Wirth

Ernst Molden (guitar, vocals), Willi Resetarits (vocals, harmonica, ukulele), Walther Soyka (accordion, vocals) and Hannes Wirth (guitar, vocals) stand for soulful German- or Viennese-language songs with fine arrangements in this quartet, which has been well-rehearsed for years. Their third joint album "Schdean" was released in 2021. In the tipsy "Laundschdreichaliad" there is room at the beginning for a dear greeting to Leonard Cohen ("Mia san ned de Scheensdn, dafia schbüü ma a Musik"), at the end, in "Laundschdrossn", beer and wine are served. In between, the view is soberly sharp, the mood soulful, the effect often touching, but always free of kitsch. It's wonderful, for example, how Resetarits celebrates the Gordon Lightfoot cover "Da Geisd bin i" ("If You Could Read My Mind") with a coherent, reduced arrangement.
