Alcina is an evil and ugly sorceress who wants to lead the crusaders astray by transforming herself into an irresistible beauty and a miserable piece of desert into a ravishing magic kingdom. There she also seduces the knight Ruggiero, who can only be freed from her spell by force. If you listen carefully, you can see the abyss: Alcina actually loves Ruggiero, but now she has to fight for her love ...
