Hilma af Klint began painting abstract in 1906, long before Malevich or Kandinsky entered the scene and became superstars of the art world. In the course of her unknown career, the Swedish artist created well over 1000 pictures, which she never exhibited. She decreed in her will that this should happen at the earliest 20 years after her death. Her works only became famous in the 1980s.
