South Africa 1981, the time of apartheid: Like all white young men, Nicholas has to do his military service to defend the regime from the threat of communism and the "black danger". No one is allowed to know that he is gay, because those who are recognized as "moffie" in the troops are brutally harassed and tortured. But then Nicholas falls in love with his comrade Dylan.
