Fern, a woman in her early 60s, becomes a modern-day nomad living in her van after the death of her husband in a recession-stricken America. Chloé Zhao's melancholic road movie combines the beauty of the landscape of the American West with the theme of loneliness, taking us into the world of odd jobs at Amazon and trailer parks with their very own communities. In addition to Frances McDormand, the film is cast with amateur actors who are actually "houseless". Awarded five Oscars and the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
