Hirayama, a single man in his 60s, seems perfectly content with his simple life as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo. Outside of his very structured daily routine, he enjoys his passion for music and for books. And he loves trees and taking pictures of them. A series of unexpected encounters gradually reveals more of his past. A poetic reflection on the search for beauty in the everyday world around us, happiness in simplicity and the value of inconspicuous things.
