Albert and Bruno, two rascals who are up to their ears in debt, join a group of French climate activists. However, they are more interested in their charismatic leader Valentine and the possibility of having their debts to the bank forgiven than the environment. "Black Friday for Future" by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache ("Pretty Best Friends") is an initially brisk comedy that takes aim at exaggerated consumerism as well as wokeness and the phraseology of political actors. Mathieu Amalric shines in a supporting role as a gambling-addicted debt advisor who goes against his own mantra: "Do I need this? Do I really need this? Do I really need this now?" As for the movie, opinion is divided. (Michael Omasta)
